My background in occupational therapy, teaching and research enhanced my ability in public speaking. In the past decade, I have provided speakerships for different organizations, institutions, and communities in the Philippines and beyond depending on their needs and according to my knowledge, expertise, and qualifications:

  • Family-centered care and disability education (Family 101+)

Family-centered care and disability education

Through the Family 101+ program, which I created through my clinical experience and MHPEd studies in UP-NTTC, I speak about family-centered care practices and disability education with the following sub-topics:

  • Myths and truths about disability

  • Relationship of sensory processing abilities and behaviors

  • Positive behavioral support systems

  • Family-centered practices and collaborative approaches

  • Team-based planning (between parents and professionals)

  • Modern-day issues of raising children/adults with special needs

Health professions education and health science research

As a health professions educator, I am able to provide speakerships and training for universities, institutions, and communities that will establish and enhance competencies of healthcare professionals both in education and practice. I normally discuss the following topics:

Occupational therapy, science, and justice

My Ph.D. in occupational therapy, which I obtained from the Tokyo Metropolitan University's Graduate School of Human Health Sciences, enabled me to contribute original ideas to the existing knowledge and expanding epistemology of occupational therapy and occupational science. My Ph.D. dissertation aimed to concretize occupational justice constructs for application to occupational therapy practice especially in the substance addiction rehabilitation settings in the Philippines. The topics I speak about are:

  • Occupational justice and participation among marginalized populations

  • Occupational therapy in substance addiction rehabilitation and mental health settings

  • Occupational therapy for children care and adult transitioning

  • School-based occupational therapy
